Last week, browsing in W H Smith, I heard someone singing – not humming – singing Diamonds Are Forever. Not the usual W H Smith experience. Paying for my newspaper, I asked the lady manager if she was the singer. She was. Told her she’d got Shirley Bassey worried. She laughed and said her granddaughter thought she was singing Dinosaurs Forever. Then she invited me to join her singing group, meets at Teignmouth United Reform Church Monday nights.
